A new force from the North
Hailing from Sundsvall, Sweden, Baarhus has quickly established itself as a standout name in the darkwave and gothic rock scene. Their cinematic sound, characterized by heavy guitars, atmospheric synths, and baritone vocals, resonates with listeners around the world.
Baarhus was formed in 2024 and draws inspiration from the spirit of classic ’80s gothic rock and post-punk, blending these influences with a distinctly modern sound.
With compelling singles like The Sirens Yell and City of Fear, Baarhus captivates audiences with a blend of brooding vocals and lush arrangements. Critics hail their work as a fresh take on classic ’80s post-punk, offering a modern gothic rock experience that hits hard and lingers long after the last note.
Their debut album, Songs Under a Darkened Sky, was released on May 29, 2026. In October 2026, the band signed with Hammerheart Records, which will reissue the album on CD and vinyl in January 2027.
